Olamide has sparked debate after revealing that his stage performances often feel more like survival missions than entertainment, citing repeated on-stage attacks as a major source of anxiety.

The rapper, speaking in an interview with Korty EO, recounted unsettling moments where fans breached security to grab his chain or hat, raising serious concerns about crowd control and artist safety at live events.

He described the experiences as deeply unsettling, admitting that despite years of success, he still battles nerves before stepping on stage due to the unpredictability of such encounters.

“I get nervous every time I am going on the stage. I have had too many crazy experiences while performing. Someone from nowhere will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he said.

Meanwhile, Asake has attempted to downplay speculation of a fallout with Olamide, insisting that his loyalty to his former label boss remains intact despite visible signs of separation.

Asake made this known during the same interview, dismissing rumours that their relationship had soured following his quiet exit from YBNL.

The controversy began in December 2024 when Asake removed YBNL from his Instagram bio and unfollowed Olamide, fueling speculation about internal disagreements.

He has since launched his independent label, Giran Republic, a move that many industry observers interpret as a strategic breakaway rather than a friendly evolution.
