Gov Idris tasks newly elected APC Ward Exco on unity, party supremacy

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has charged the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) ward leaders in the state to promote unity amongst members and ensure party supremacy.

He gave the charge on Wednesday during ward congresses for Marafa and Nasawa II wards in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state.

The governor, who expressed satisfaction with the congresses observed that the peaceful conduct of the exercise “signifies that Kebbi is peaceful.”

Gov. Idris assured the new exco that government would work hand-in-hand with them so collectively they would take Kebbi to greater heights.

In his speech, Abdulmalik Mahmud, former Deputy Governor, Bauchi State and Chairman Election Committee, noted that the party’s constitution provided for either election or consensus.

“We are happy that Kebbi opted for consensus. The committee is satisfied with what transpired, hope other state will borrow a leave from Kebbi,” he said.

In his speech, the Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Musa Yaro Enabo said Marafa ward “is today fulfilling the rites of APC as a party.”

He said in fulfilment of the requirements of the law, INEC Electrical Officer, Abubakar Ahmed was invited and he in attendance to monitor the congresses.

“We have resolved that the ward chairman, who spent 12 years and willingly step aside to go and represent us at the local government level, Alhajii Musa Jabbo is now the new chairman,” he said

Enabo said Marafa ward was the the biggest wards among all the 225 wards across the state.

The Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru said elders of the party resolved that any exco that spent eight years should step aside for other to contribute their quota to the development of the party and the state at large.

He urged them to be loyal and ensure that they carry all manner of people along to give all a sense of belonging.
