The Controller of Corrections, Zamfara State Command, Muhammad Juta, has paid courtesy visits to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Federal Fire Service (FFS) as part of the command’s efforts to strengthen inter-agency synergy and enhance security collaboration across the state.
During the visit to the FRSC Sector Command along the Saminaka Bypass, Gusau, the Controller underscored the importance of continuous cooperation among paramilitary agencies, particularly in the areas of security, justice administration, and public safety.
As contained in a statement by Mustapha Abubakar, Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, Public Relations Officer, Nigerian Correctional Service, Zamfara State Command, The Corrections Controller emphasised the need to support custodial decongestion through the effective implementation of non-custodial measures, in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019, especially for traffic-related offenders as a viable alternative to imprisonment.
The Controller also commended the FRSC for its sustained road safety advocacy and public enlightenment campaigns, noting that such interventions significantly contribute to the protection of lives and property on Nigerian roads.
Responding, the Zamfara State Sector Commander of FRSC, Corps Commander Aliyu Ma’aji, appreciated the visit and called for the expansion of regular inter-agency security meetings. He noted that broader participation would enhance intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and collective response to security challenges within the state.
