The Sokoto State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, has charged all the newly posted Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to uphold the core values of discipline. Similarly charged them on perseverance and integrity in their service to the nation. This comes after the officers completed their academic phase and are transitioning into rigorous police training.
CP Musa emphasized that the officers are now ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force and must exemplify the highest standards of professionalism. He advised them to embody courage, loyalty, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
Statement by DSP Ahmad Rufai also said the Commissioner warned against any form of misconduct, stating that their uniform is a symbol of protection and service, and must never be used to intimidate, harass, or extort citizens. The newly posted officers will undergo a two-month attachment within various formations and departments of the Sokoto State Command.
This attachment will provide them with practical field experience under the supervision of seasoned officers. CP Musa wished them success in their new assignments and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to supporting their professional development while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
The Sokoto State Police Command has been working to improve its services, including launching an in-house refresher training programme for officers to enhance professionalism, discipline, and service delivery.
“The Command has also been strengthening community partnerships and enhancing grassroots security operations across the state”, the Commissioner has said.
