The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Ogun State has recorded significant progress in addressing public grievances, with a total of 1,142 complaints received between September 2024 and December 2025, out of which 783 cases have been successfully resolved.
The Federal Commissioner of the PCC in Ogun State, Mr. Morakinyo Akinleye, disclosed this while responding to questions from journalists at the January Media Parliament and Guest Forum organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council.
According to Akinleye, 359 cases, representing 31.44 per cent of the total complaints received within the period under review, are still ongoing, adding that the commission remains committed to effective and timely service delivery.
He explained that upon assuming office in September 2024, he inherited 520 complaints, of which 343 cases, amounting to 65.96 per cent, were resolved, while 177 cases, representing 34.04 per cent, were pending.
The commissioner further disclosed that between September 2024 and December 2025, the Ogun State office received 622 new complaints. Out of these, 440 cases (70.74 per cent) were resolved, while 182 cases (29.26 per cent) remain under investigation.
“In total, the Ogun State Office handled 1,142 complaints within the period. Out of these, 783 cases, representing 68.56 per cent, were resolved, while 359 cases, amounting to 31.44 per cent, are still ongoing. This reflects the commission’s commitment to effective service delivery,” Akinleye said.
He explained that the core mandate of the PCC is to receive complaints from members of the public against government agencies and private establishments, assuring that all complaints are thoroughly investigated with a view to achieving amicable resolutions.
Akinleye also noted that the commission has the constitutional authority to investigate any government agency and report erring organisations to the Federal Government, adding that strong collaboration with government agencies and the media has contributed to the successes recorded in Ogun State.
He urged members of the public to utilise any of the commission’s five offices in the state or its social media platforms to lodge their complaints, stressing that the PCC exists to serve the people and address their grievances at no cost.
Earlier, the Chairman of the NUJ, Ogun State Council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, said the forum was organised to enlighten the public on the activities of the commission and the benefits available to citizens through its interventions.
