The Association of Mass Communication Students (AMACOS) 94/99 Set of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), has completed a multi-million naira Mini Community Library for the benefit of students and residents of Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
The facility which will be formally inaugurated on December 11, 2025 was constructed in partnership with After God’s Heart Incorporated (AGH), Located within the Abeokuta North LGA secretariat axis, the Mini Community Library, according to a statement by Dr Femi Oluwole, the Publicity Secretary of the Set, is equipped with reading desks, shelves, reference materials, and other study resources intended to promote a strong reading culture and bridge existing learning gaps in the area.
The project forms part of the AMACOS 94/99 Set’s legacy initiatives commemorating their 30-year Reunion tagged “30Years Of Friendship And ĺTogetherness Reunion”.
Chairman of AGH, Dr. D. Olawale, described the Mini Community Library as a strategic investment in youth empowerment.
“The Mini Library is designed to give students access to quality learning materials, especially as they prepare for crucial examinations such as WAEC and JAMB. We are excited to collaborate with AMACOS 94/99, an outstanding group of professionals committed to community growth,” he said.
President of AMACOS 94/99, Mr. Moruf Adenekan, expressed gratitude to AGH and the Abeokuta North Local Government for supporting the project.
“We are profoundly grateful to After God’s Heart Inc. for believing in this vision and financing a significant part of this life-changing project. We also appreciate the Abeokuta North Local Government for providing the space that made this Mini Library possible,” he said.
He added that the project reflects “the power of collaboration and a collective resolve to give back to the community that shaped us,” describing the library as a legacy that will support young learners for generations.
Chairman of the Reunion Planning Committee, Lady Lolade Akokhia, said the three-day reunion programme includes a series of activities aimed at strengthening professional ties and supporting educational development.
“Our activities will include courtesy visits to the Mass Communication Department of MAPOLY for the inauguration of an advertising studio and ARCON accreditation project, as well as a joint gift presentation to non-academic staff,” she stated.
She added that the group will later visit the Rector of MAPOLY, attend Jumat service, visit the Abeokuta Correctional Centre, commission the library project, and end the day with a ‘Reconnect & Refresh’ evening event.
“The lineup also includes a FunFest at Olumo Rock, a Reunion Launch and Adire Rendezvous with red carpet reception and awards, and a thanksgiving service to close the programme.”
