Niger on top of Federal Healthcare agenda, enhancing public health

Niger State Government has been hailed for its dedication to aligning with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in providing quality healthcare services to its citizens.
This commendation was made by Salma Anas, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Health, who expressed her admiration for Governor Mohammad Umar Bago’s commitment to efficient healthcare.
The president Adviser spoke during her inspection visit to the Dije Bala Primary Health Care facility in Suleja, local government area of the state
During the visit, Anas praised the state’s proactive efforts in operationalizing President Tinubu’s healthcare vision, which aims to make medical services accessible, equitable, and effective for all Nigerians.
She declared, “The Niger State Government has shown remarkable dedication to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda in the health sector, evident from the large turnout of women seeking healthcare services here,” highlighting the importance of collaboration between her office and the Niger State Government.
Anas took the opportunity to inspect healthcare facilities, engage with medical workers, and evaluate ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing maternal and child health, immunization coverage, and emergency care.
She stressed the necessity to address challenges such as infrastructure deficits, staffing shortages, and resource limitations.
Anas therefore urged stakeholders, including traditional leaders, to sustain efforts toward achieving universal health coverage and advised caregivers to actively seek maternal and child health services to mitigate the risks of maternal and child mortality.
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Primary Health Care, reiterated the Governor’s commitment to revitalizing the entire healthcare system through the ongoing construction of Level 1 Primary Health Care facilities.
He expressed gratitude to the Special Adviser for her visit and appealed for further collaboration from her office to bridge existing gaps in primary healthcare.
This visit signifies a crucial step toward strengthening healthcare service delivery in Niger State and ensuring better health outcomes for the community.
