Kebbi: Idris commends Dangote Foundation for donating foodstuff to 3000 people

No fewer than 3,000 less privileged, including widows, disabled persons and Albinos benefited from grains donated by Dangote Foundation in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Addressing the beneficiaries at Birnin Kebbi Local Government Secretariat, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris said the gesture was to complement the state government’s efforts in ameliorating the plights of the masses.

The governor, who was represented by the Birnin Kebbi Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Nayaya Ambursa said that 3,000 bags of grains were received from the foundation, while, other local government areas got 1,000 bags each.

Dr. Idris commended the efforts of the foundation for supporting the less privileged members of the society.

“We from Birnin Kebbi Local Government set up a committee for the sharing, all relevant stakeholders are involved in the committee,” he confirmed.

The governor also urged the beneficiaries to appreciate the present administration for its efforts in facilitating support and bringing succour to the state.

Earlier, the representative of the Emir of Gwandu, Ubandoman Gwandu, Alhaji Sadiq Ibrahim, appreciated the Dangote Foundation for supporting the masses with food items.

“This is the right time that people need foodstuff to salvage their lives. May Allah (SWT) reward him and our able leader, the Comrade Governor, Dr Nasir Idris,” he noted.

Also contributing, the APC Birnin Kebbi Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Sani Bello, also applauded the foundation for assisting the people.

On his part, Alhaji Abubakar AC Ladan, former Commissioner for Works in the state thanked Dangote foundation for the gesture and warned the beneficiaries not to sell the grains, in view of the fact that it was meant for consumption.
