This year’s Lisabi Day Festival, themed Egbaliganza, truly lived up to its promise of glitz and fashion, seamlessly blending rich Egba cultural heritage with modern style and grandeur.
The event was a vibrant showcase of glamorous fashion displays, with attendees flaunting both traditional and contemporary attire. The spotlight shone on Ofi—a locally woven Egba textile—and Adire, which were creatively fused with modern Afrocentric designs to celebrate Egba’s identity spectacularly.
Prominent Egba indigenes, Nollywood stars, politicians, business moguls, and socialites turned heads in luxurious aso-oke, bespoke agbadas, and intricately styled gele. Top Nigerian designers seized the opportunity to display their craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from Egba history and the enduring legacy of Lisabi.
The cultural elegance reached a peak as the Alake of Egbaland and other high chiefs appeared in regal traditional outfits adorned with coral beads and ornate accessories, reinforcing the deep-rooted heritage of Egbaland.
More than just a fashion statement, the Egbaliganza theme highlighted the sophistication and pride of the Egba people, proving that tradition can be both prestigious and stylish in today’s world.
