Abia State Town Unions Association National Youth Wing has condemned in totality the actions of the Directorate of State Services and the Nigerian Judiciary for their flimsy excuses and inability to provide Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to court.
They added that the chain on Kanu’s hands is also the chain on the hands of Ndi Abia, Ndigbo, and the old Eastern region states.
Speaking in a press conference in Lagos, recently, the chairman of the group, Rt. Comr. China Joel Okorie , said Kanu is a British citizen and the whole world knows that he’s is playing the role of a freedom fighter who detected the ill-treatment, killings, and raping of his people.
“Therefore, self-determination is not a crime anywhere in the world. We frown on the extraordinary rendition/kidnapping of a Kanu by the Federal Government in collaboration with the Kenyan government. Abia State youths are well aware of the inhumane and brutalisation Kanu is going through in the secret Dungeon of the DSS. We are also aware of his present deterioration condition of his health and his inability to have access to his personal physicians.
“We call on the Federal Government to ensure that nothing happens to Kanu and also calls for his unconditional release because the lawful captives (the killer Fulani Herdsmen, Bandits, Boko Haram, and Miyetti Allah) who has killed thousands of souls in Nigeria and are still killing are allowed to walk freely with AK -47 and also been pardoned through the intervention of the federal government.
“A well we call on United Nations (UN), the United States (US), the European Union (EU), United Kingdom (UK), the State of Israel, and the African Union (AU) to prevail on the federal government of Nigeria to release Kanu unconditionally because the federal government acted illegally through extraordinary rendition /kidnapping and he can’t stand trial under illegality. The Nigeria Judiciary should wake up from their slumber”, he said.
Also, the National Secretary, Mr. Ndubuisi Kingsley Onwuchekwa, and National Publicity Secretary (NPRO), Mr. Sylvester Kalu Obasi , called on the federal government to release all the Igbo youths they tagged terrorists, saying that many of them are undergoing unexplainable tortures in various detentions in Nigeria.
The executive members advised Federal Government to compensate the families of those youths killed in extra-judicially since the inception of this current government.
