The Osun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps, has dismissed an officer identified as Awopeju Cornelious Sanjo ASA 1 with OSNA/2021/00018 over gross misconduct in violation of the public service regulations governing the conduct of personnel.

The dismissal followed a disciplinary proceeding conducted on Monday, October 26, 2026, during which the allegations against the officer were formally presented to him by the Command’s Ambassador Provost, CSP Joshua Omogbehin (Rtd).

During the proceedings, the officer acknowledged the allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him. Following the disciplinary process, he was dismissed from service in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Consequently, the dismissed officer was directed to surrender all Amotekun uniforms, equipment, and other official materials in his possession as part of the disengagement process.

Reacting to the development, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Isaac Omoyele, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to discipline, professionalism, and accountability among its personnel.

He stressed that the corps would not tolerate any act of indiscipline, misconduct, or behaviour capable of tarnishing the image and reputation of the security outfit.

According to the Corps Commander, all officers are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct and discharge their duties in line with the rules and regulations guiding the organisation.

He further urged personnel of the corps to remain disciplined, vigilant, and committed to their responsibilities, warning that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any officer found culpable of gross misconduct.

Dr Omoyele also appealed to members of the general public to take note of the dismissal, stressing that Awopeju Cornelious Sanjo had ceased to be an operative of the Osun Amotekun Corps following his dismissal.

He advised the public not to recognise or present the dismissed officer as a serving Amotekun operative, as he no longer has the authority or official status to act on behalf of the corps.

The Osun Amotekun Corps reiterated its resolve to maintain discipline, protect public confidence, and ensure that all personnel conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and objectives of the organisation, adding that the command remains committed to professionalism, accountability, and the security of lives and property across Osun State.
