The national president of the All Farmers Association (AFAN), Honourable Mohammed Magaji Gettado, has called on the council chairmen to emulate Barrister Maidawa Kajiji, the executive chairman of Shagari Local Government Council on Agricultural intervention.
He made the call in Kano at the two-day stakeholders meeting organised by the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), adding that AFAN is very much proud of the 200 solar water pumps donated to the farmers of Shagari Local Government Area through the All Farmers Association for the dry season programmes, which is a landmark achievement.
Gettado opined that the solar water pumps would certainly boost dry season farming, facilitate food production for economic stability, employment opportunities, and tackling insecurity across the state with optimum results.
He commended Barrister Maidawa Kajiji for his efforts to provide succour to the farmers of his domain, and reassured that AFAN would continue to collaborate with local councils, agencies, NGOs that are directly related to agribusiness, as well as government agencies for a better tomorrow through agriculture.
“We are working selflessly to ensure that AFAN Leadership brought excellent changes in Agriculture occupation, marketing facilities, and provided a necessary and conducive atmosphere for profitable farming in both dry and rainy seasons with minimal or zero loss.
