In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, on Thursday, the Speaker said there is every reason to thank Almighty Allah for keeping the country united despite numerous challenges, noting that significant progress has been recorded in various sectors of national development.
Rt. Hon. Falgore observed that over the past 66 years, Kano State has witnessed remarkable development in healthcare, agriculture and livestock, education, science and technology, as well as other critical sectors aimed at enhancing the welfare and well-being of the people.
He noted that Nigeria has also recorded tremendous growth in terms of population, creation of more states and local government areas, increase in revenue base, and above all, the sustenance of democratic governance.
The Speaker further stated that as Nigeria marks its 66th anniversary, Kano State is fortunate to have visionary leaders, including His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, whose policies and programmes continue to place Kano State at the forefront of development, particularly in education and other key sectors.
Rt. Hon. Falgore extended his felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and all Nigerians on this auspicious occasion.
“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, I congratulate all Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary of our great nation,” he said.
