In a unified display of Regional solidarity and political commitment to social equity, the First Lady of Zamfara State, Her Excellency Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal, has joined her counterparts across Northern Nigeria in Yola, for a strategic regional engagement organized by the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum.
The high-level gathering serves as a collaborative platform to harmonize humanitarian interventions, optimize resource distribution and reinforce state-level safety nets for vulnerable women, children and marginalized households across the geopolitical zone.
As contained in a statement by Comrade Rabi Yusuf Press Secretary,
Office of the First Lady of Zamfara State, upon arrival at the Lamido Mustapha International Airport, Yola, on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, the delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Forum, Her Excellency Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, and warmly received by the host First Lady of Adamawa State, Her Excellency Hajiya Lami Fintiri, immediately embarked on a series of impact-driven civic assignments.
Demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare infrastructure, the First Ladies officially commissioned state-of-the-art medical equipment and distributed essential care supplies at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, to bolster local health delivery systems and mitigate patient burdens.
The delegation subsequently convened at the Adamawa State Government House to execute a major empowerment scheme, dispensing financial grants and essential food commodities to thousands of vulnerable women.
This joint exercise reflects the Forum’s overarching mandate to champion gender-inclusive development, alleviate economic hardship and build resilience among women as key pillars of rural and suburban economies across Northern Nigeria.
The regional retreat brings together First Ladies from Zamfara, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Plateau, Niger, Yobe, Borno, and other northern states to exchange institutional best practices, evaluate intervention models and align local advocacy initiatives with broad socio-economic development targets.
Her Excellency Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal’s active participation reveals Zamfara State’s dedication to regional synergy, gender advocacy and human capital development.
By uniting with the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum, the Office of the First Lady of Zamfara State continues to elevate the national discourse surrounding social welfare, ensuring that state-level policy directions translate into tangible, compassionate governance for the most deserving citizens.
