Nigerian Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya has announced that he is stepping away from music, saying he can no longer give the profession the level of commitment it deserves.

The singer, who is the son of businessman and industrialist Rasaq Okoya, announced in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday.

Raheem explained that music started as a hobby among friends before gradually becoming a professional career that opened doors to major performances and collaborations with artistes he admired.

According to him, balancing music with his growing personal and business commitments has become increasingly difficult over the past year.

He said he decided to make a “professional exit” out of respect for his fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Although he is ending his music career for now, Raheem hinted that he plans to explore other creative ventures and did not completely rule out releasing music again in the future.

The singer began releasing music professionally in 2022 and is known for songs including Bad Bitch Syndrome, Kowope, SOWETO and TRU$T FUND. He released his debut eight-track project, By The Order Of The City, in May 2026.
