Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the creation of eight (8) new Village Heads under Koko District in Koko/Besse Local Government Area.
The approval, contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, was issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
The newly created village heads are:
1. Alhaji Kabiru Sama’ila Danduste — Hakimin Dandashe
2. Alhaji Salihu Bello — Hakimin Unguwar Albarkawa
3. Alhaji Sama’ila Firchin Tukura — Hakimin Unguwar Gwadabawa
4. Abdullahi Salihu — Hakimin Unguwar Wurya
5. Mustapha Muhammad — Hakimin Unguwar Illo
6. Alhaji Ahmed Salihu — Hakimin Unguwar Mallamawa
7. Alhaji Musa Salihu — Hakimin Kawo
8. Alhaji Ibrahim Salihu Koko (Sarkin Kudun Koko) — Hakimin Unguwar Rafin Kada
According to the Commissioner, the appointments were made in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, particularly Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B), which confer powers on Local Governments regarding the creation of Village Heads.
The Commissioner urged the newly appointed traditional office holders to uphold discipline, honesty, transparency and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He assured them of the continued support and cooperation of the Governor and the Ministry, noting that their appointments were based on their records and demonstrated capacity to serve their communities.
The Kebbi State Government remains committed to strengthening traditional institutions, promoting grassroots administration and advancing peace, unity and development across the State.
