By: Opeyemi Abolarinwa, Osogbo.

Osun State Governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has cast his ballot in the ongoing 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Adeleke arrived at his designated polling unit at about 8:30 a.m. at Saagba/Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, accompanied by his wives, as eligible voters turned out across the state to participate in the election.

The governor was accredited by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before proceeding to cast his vote in line with the electoral guidelines.

Shortly after voting, Adeleke urged the people of Osun State to exercise their civic responsibility peacefully and ensure that their votes count.

He also appealed to voters, political parties and their supporters to maintain peace and allow the electoral process to proceed without intimidation or violence.

The election is being conducted across the 30 local government areas of Osun State, with 15 candidates participating in the contest for the governorship seat.

Adeleke, who is seeking a second term in office, won the 2022 governorship election after defeating the then-incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

He is now seeking another mandate from the electorate as voting continues across the state.
