Gov Idris creates two additional Districts at Arugungu LGA in Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the creation of 2 additional new districts in Arugungu Local Government Area.

The approval was contained in a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

According to the statement, he said that the Arugungu LG has resolved to create 2 additional new District Heads in Arugungu municipality.

1. The creation of Yamman with headquarters at Gungu, while Alhaji Abubakar Mohammad Mera has been appointed as the District Head of the newly created Yamman District.

2. The Upgrading of substantive District Head of New Gwagange District and Darikwai Muhammadu Ibrahim has also been appointed as the new District Head of Gwazange in Arugungu LG.

The Commissioner explained that the creation of the new district and upgrad of gwazange District were carried out in accordance with the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B), which empower local governments to create districts and upgraded District Head

He urged the newly appointes district heads to discharge their responsibilities with discipline, honesty, transparency, and dedication.

“Your appointments were based on your track records. Be assured of the Governor’s and the Ministry’s continued support and cooperation as you carry out your responsibilities,” the Commissioner stated.
