The National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jigawa State chapter, hosted supporters of Peter Obi and the Kwankwasiyya movement during a political rally aimed at mobilizing support for the Peter Obi–Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The rally attracted thousands of young men and women who marched through the streets of Dutse. The procession began at the Rawan Mai Kwarya junction and moved through major roads in the state capital before ending at the party’s office along MTD Road.
Speaking while receiving the supporters, the NDC governorship candidate in Jigawa State, Dr. Aminu Sani Yarima, described the youth mobilization as a commendable initiative. He said the party fully supports the campaign, which is designed to encourage young people to take an active role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
According to him, if Nigerians elect the NDC to replace the ruling APC in 2027, the country will witness meaningful development, improved governance, and renewed hope.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of the Peter Obi–Kwankwaso Campaign Movement, Comrade Auwalu Ahmed Ramin Kuka, urged Jigawa youths to support the NDC and work tirelessly to ensure victory for the party in the next general election.
He said such support would bring the positive change Nigerians have long desired.
Ramin Kuka described Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as leaders capable of addressing Nigeria’s longstanding challenges, including poverty, insecurity, and hunger.
The leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement in Jigawa State, Alhaji Ado Taura, said the NDC is well-positioned to win the election because of its people-oriented policies. He maintained that the party was founded on the principles of justice, truth, and progress, and called on youths across the state to support it in order to rescue Nigeria from its current socio-economic challenges.
The NDC Women’s Leader in Jigawa State, Hajiya Umma Hani Ayuba, said many women had previously been misled by other political parties but had now realized that the NDC offers a better alternative. She appealed to all Nigerians, particularly residents of Jigawa State, to support the party and ensure its success in the 2027 elections.
She added that the party still has significant work to do in educating and mobilizing women across the state, noting that women’s support would be crucial to the party’s electoral success.
Hajiya Umma also advised women and young people to join the NDC, urging them not to be swayed by financial inducements, business grants, or other incentives offered by politicians. She encouraged voters to accept any lawful gifts offered during campaigns but to cast their votes according to their conscience, insisting that Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso represent the best hope for Nigeria’s future.
