An APC concern group in Nasarawa State, has faulted the irregularities associated to the conduct of the ongoing Primary election in the area.
The group said there were irregularities during the House of Representatives and that of the Senate Primaries in different parts of the State.
Leader of the concern group, Abdullahi Yammani, made this know on Tuesday during a Media briefing in Lafia, the State Capital.
According to the spokesman of the group, there was no proper coordinated arrangement for the collation and submission of results across the State, adding that the situation created confusion and raised serious concern about the credibility and transparency of the entire process.Â
Yammani who pointed out that the development has since created tension and weakened the confidence of APC members in the State towards the conduct of the primaries, said areas such as Gayam, Akurba, Wakwa,Agyaragu,Assakio, Ashige, Shabu/ Kwandare, BAD and Arikga Wards were among places affected.Â
The group also raised alarm on the conduct of some leadership members of the Party in the State, on how decisions were taken during the exercise that appears to favour certain Aspirants and individuals.Â
According to the group ” we are not satisfied with the system, we want this to be corrected so that it will not affect future conduct, we don’t want APC to lose the 2027 election in the State, we respect the constitution of the Party, therefore, whatever we are doing we shall not go outside the constitution, so we call on the National leadership of the Party to intervene in this matter”.
The group further stated that they want fairness, equity, Justice and a level playing field for all Aspirants to freely exercise their democratic rights without intimidation, favouritism and manipulation during future primaries.
