The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara state command have successfully completed the training of two hundred (200) personnel for VIP Protection course, the maiden edition to all state commands of the federation, second only to the national headquarters.

As contained in a statement by ASCII Umar Mohammed, head Public Relations NSCDC Zamfara state command, the host, CC Sani Mustapha highlighted the following: “Your Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, through your relentless push and assistance, the state command doubles as the pacesetter and model command of the Corps“.

“Subsequent to your unwavering support and commitment to improve and standardize the welfarism and capacity of the security operatives in the state, not limited to NSCDC, the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR sanctioned the approval of our request to commence the training programme, VIP Protection course”.

In furtherance, “following the Federal Executive Order 2025 by the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, the protection of important personalities constituted an additional mandate which necessitated the birth of VIP Protection training scheme to adequately educate, orient and equip personnel of the Corps with essential skills, endurance, discipline and ethics of protecting VIPs”.

“Consequently, this training is timely considering the impending electoral processes and the increased demands for VIP protection by the elites”.

“In completion of the two (2) weeks rigorous training programme aimed to improve the ability of the personnel in the discharge of the added responsibility industriously and efficient, we are about to witness some basic parade drills and tactics by the trainees relevant to the protection of very important person(s), ceremoniously”.

“The Commandant Genperal of the Corps, is determined to restructure and induce new ideas to ensure NSCDC delivers on its mandate efficiently”. CC Sani Mustapha emphasized.

the Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Police Force; followed by the State Director Services, Department of State Services; and Controller of Correction, Nigeria Correctional Service, summarily, expressed great joy over the successful completion of 200 VIP protection staff training describing it as a remarkable feat.

Presence at the event were the distinguished guest, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal ably represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alh. Yazid Attahiru who averred security as the foundation of progress, saying that, a secured Zamfara state is the primary objective of this administration.

Other diginitiries also congratulated the NSCDC command for making the initiative a reality.
