The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the sale of its 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application documents to May 8, 2026.
The board said the extension was part of efforts to ensure that eligible candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions through Direct Entry are not denied the opportunity to register.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin.
Benjamin said the decision was taken in line with the board’s commitment to expanding access to tertiary education and making the registration process easier for candidates across the country.
He said, “In furtherance of its objective of expanding access to tertiary education, the Board has extended the sale of Direct Entry application documents to 8th May 2026.”
The board also announced the creation of five additional registration centres to reduce pressure in areas with high demand.
According to JAMB, the new centres are expected to help candidates complete their registration without unnecessary delays.
The centres are the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University Centre 1, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State; Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives, Grace House, Lagos State.
JAMB added that the Human Development Initiatives centre in Lagos would begin operations on April 30, 2026.
PRCs, PTCs remain open nationwide
Benjamin further reminded candidates that all JAMB Professional Registration Centres and Professional Testing Centres across the country remain open for the ongoing Direct Entry registration exercise.
He urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the extension and the newly approved centres to complete their registration before the new deadline.
The board said the extension was intended to make the process more accessible and ensure that candidates who may have faced difficulties with registration facilities are not left out.
