The Kano State House of Assembly ad hoc committee on the screening of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, nominee for the office of Deputy Governor of Kano State, has submitted its report to the House at today’s plenary session. 

In a statement released by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the chairman of the ad hoc committee, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu Butu (Deputy Speaker), said that after an exhaustive examination of the nominee’s credentials the committee’s findings are as follows: Education: The nominee presented authentic and verifiable credentials showing attendance at Bayero University Kano and WestFord Education.

He was born on 15 May 1978 and hails from Garo town, Kabo Local Government Area, Kano State. In his political career, Faro is a member of the APC and has served as Chairman of Kabo Local Government, ALGON Chairman, Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and was the Deputy Governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.

During the screening performance: the nominee responded satisfactorily to all questions posed by committee members.

Verification: The committee carried out a detailed and thorough scrutiny of the nominee’s records.  Committee recommendations That the House approve and confirm the nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State.

That the House reaffirm its commitment to collaborate with the executive arm to promote good governance, accountability, and the overall development of Kano State. 

The Kano State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore, has unanimously confirmed Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State.
