Phyna has ignited a fierce social debate after clapping back at critics over her decision to remain childless, labeling her detractors as “outdated.”
The former Big Brother Naija winner had earlier revealed her preference for raising pets instead of having biological children, a stance that triggered widespread backlash across social media.
Reacting strongly, Phyna accused her critics of hypocrisy and ignorance, arguing that many people judge personal decisions without understanding the underlying reasons.
She linked her stance to her upbringing, explaining that her childhood experiences shaped her fears about parenting and influenced her decision to avoid motherhood.
According to her, the fear of repeating negative parental patterns is a major factor, insisting that choosing not to have children is more responsible than raising them under unresolved trauma.
“Dumb country people… y’all brains is still stuck in the 60’s era… I don’t want to bring a child in. I’m scared of becoming a parent like the one I had,” she wrote.
Her remarks have since divided public opinion, with some defending her honesty while others see her comments as an attack on cultural values.
