The Federal Ministry of Interior Nigeria has intensified its reform agenda with the hosting of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Sensitization Workshop aimed at improving service delivery, strengthening institutional capacity, and attracting sustainable private sector investment.

The high-level workshop convened directors, technical officers, and key stakeholders to deepen understanding of PPP frameworks and explore opportunities for collaboration aligned with national development priorities.

Welcoming participants, Deputy Director of Special Duties, Adogeri Beloved, described the initiative as a strategic step toward repositioning the Ministry for innovation and long-term growth.

She emphasized that exposing staff to modern financing and operational models is essential for bridging infrastructure gaps and enhancing service outcomes.

According to her, effective adoption of PPP strategies would allow the Ministry to tap into private sector expertise, improve efficiency, and ensure sustainable development across its core mandates.
Representing the Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, Director of Human Resources Management, Catherine Zozi, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to institutional reform. She highlighted PPPs as a vital tool for delivering value for money, promoting transparency, and fostering innovation in public service delivery.

She further stressed that equipping officers with the skills to design, manage, and monitor PPP projects is crucial for achieving lasting impact and aligning with global best practices.

In his goodwill message, Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Johnson Ewalefoh, commended the Ministry’s proactive approach.

He noted that effective collaboration between government and the private sector remains key to unlocking economic potential and addressing infrastructure deficits.
Ewalefoh also assured continued support from the Commission in providing regulatory guidance, technical expertise, and oversight to ensure PPP initiatives deliver maximum public value with accountability and transparency.

The workshop featured technical sessions, expert presentations, and interactive discussions focused on PPP implementation, project structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Participants were urged to apply the knowledge gained in identifying viable, bankable projects that align with the Ministry’s strategic goals.

In a statement on Thursday by Head of Press and Public Relations, Mary Ali, the Ministry reiterated its commitment to reforms that promote efficiency, transparency, and citizen-focused service delivery through innovative approaches such as Public-Private Partnerships.
