Super Eagles storm Antalya: Chelle takes charge as Nigeria begins friendly war games

 

 

Nigeria national football team have officially kicked off preparations in Antalya, Turkey, as new head coach Eric Chelle begins shaping his squad ahead of crucial international friendlies.

The team’s first training session saw 22 players in attendance, signaling a strong start despite minor setbacks, including the absence of Calvin Bassey due to injury.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi arrived last, completing the squad at their Bellis Deluxe Hotel base and marking the full mobilisation of the team.

Nigeria will face Iran national football team in their first test, a fixture expected to provide tactical insight into Chelle’s evolving system.

The friendly, scheduled for Friday, will serve as a critical evaluation platform as the coach assesses player fitness, chemistry, and adaptability.

With competition for places intensifying, the Antalya camp represents more than routine preparation, it is a proving ground for players seeking to secure long-term roles in the national setup.
