The Zamfara State chapter of All Progressives Congress APC has concluded arrangements to formally receive the state’s Executive Governor, Dauda Lawal into the party.

As disclosed in a statement by Yusuf Idris Gusau, APC Publicity Secretary, the formal reception which is scheduled for Tuesday, 24/3/2026, will be attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who will be represented by Vice President Kashim Shattima and backed by National Executives.

The immediates past governors of Zamfara state, His Excellency, Dr. Bello Mohammad Matawalle the current Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency, Senator AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar, His Excellency, Senator Ahmad Rufai Sani, His Excellency, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi as well as former Deputy Governors, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, Muktar Ahmad Anka, Sen Hassan Mohammad Nasiha and former Minister of Finance, Amb Bashir Yuguda Gusau, former Foreingn Affairs Minister, Sen Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, Sen Sahabi Yau, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji and Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannah.

Similarly, other APC Governors, National Assembly members and other top notches of the APC within and outside the state are expected to attend.

The party has already strategised on how to mobilise supporters across board in order to ensure a smooth and successful reception for the governor.

Various commiittees have also been formed to ensure a hitch free reception in the state.

It could be recalled that the governor recently defected from his former political party, the PDP to the APC.

The APC has also held a critical stakeholders meeting where some members of the party will be selected from each of the 14 local government areas of the state by the party executive in the state under the leadership of Hon Tukur Umar Danfulani to coordinate activities at their various local governments areas with the responsibility of meeting with other stakeholders of their respective local government areas to fine tune a befitting reception for the governor.

Already, following his declaration to defect from the PDP, the governor has become a full fledged bonafide member of the APC.

The party appeals to aĺl members, supporters and well wishers to come out enmass and welcome our amiable President Bola Ahmad Tinubi who will be represented by Vice President Kashim Shattima.
