The President of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Mrs. Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi, has commended BOCA Energy Resources Limited for sponsoring the association’s March 2026 Technical/Business Meeting, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to industry development.
Speaking during her welcome address at the event held in Lagos, Ajayi expressed her appreciation to the company for supporting a platform that promotes technical knowledge sharing and professional engagement within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. She noted that the sponsorship underscores BOCA’s commitment to advancing industry capacity and innovation.
Ajayi also lauded the meeting’s theme, “From Swamp to Deep Water: Designing Fit-for-Purpose Site Surveys Across Nigeria’s Offshore Blocks,” describing it as timely and critical to the evolving needs of the petroleum exploration landscape. According to her, site surveys play a vital role in de-risking exploration assets and ensuring that operators make informed decisions before embarking on costly drilling operations.
She emphasised that with increasing offshore activities and the growing participation of operators in marginal fields, access to accurate survey data has become indispensable. Ajayi pointed out that proper planning, backed by reliable geophysical data, is key to reducing uncertainties and optimising investments in the sector.
The NAPE president further encouraged participants to take full advantage of the session by actively, asking relevant questions, and acquiring knowledge that would enhance their professional competence and readiness for deeper offshore exploration.
The event, which attracted key stakeholders across the industry, is expected to deepen discourse on innovative survey methodologies and strengthen collaboration among operators, service providers, and regulators in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
