A member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, Ambassador Terry Igiebor, has formally resigned his appointment, effective March 1, 2026, in compliance with a recent directive issued by the Edo State Government.
The government circular requires all political appointees intending to contest in forthcoming elections to relinquish their positions on or before the stated date. Igiebor, in a formal communication announcing his decision, cited adherence to due process and respect for constituted authority as the basis for his resignation.
“I hereby relinquish my appointment accordingly,” he stated, affirming his obedience to the government’s directive.
Ambassador Igiebor expressed appreciation to the Edo State Government for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Commission, describing his tenure as both a privilege and an honour. He noted that his service afforded him the opportunity to contribute to institutional strengthening, accountability, and governance reforms within the state’s audit framework.
He also conveyed gratitude to colleagues and stakeholders for their cooperation and support throughout his time on the Commission.
Despite stepping down from his official role, Igiebor reiterated his commitment to the continued progress and development of Edo State, pledging to serve in any lawful capacity going forward.
His resignation takes effect immediately.
