Gov Idris pledges Stronger collaboration with Judiciary, Legislature, respects rules of law

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, hosted a special Ramadan Iftar for members of the State Judiciary and the House of Assembly, underscoring the importance of synergy among the three arms of government in advancing the state’s development.

Governor Idris expressed appreciation for the harmonious relationship existing between the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, describing the gathering as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to a people-oriented government anchored on consultation, inclusiveness, and grassroots engagement.

Addressing recent security challenges in some flashpoints across the state, the Governor assured citizens that his administration is working closely with security agencies and personally visiting affected communities to ensure lasting peace and stability.

Dr. Idris noted that power is transient, reminding the gathering that every tenure has a beginning and an end. He emphasized his determination to leave a lasting, positive legacy that will continue to benefit the people of Kebbi State long after his time in office.

He further stressed that his government does not embark on projects in isolation but consults widely with communities to ensure that infrastructure and social interventions align with the genuine needs and priorities of the people.

“We have no other state than Kebbi,” the Governor stated, calling for unity, faith, and collective responsibility in overcoming challenges.

He reiterated that his administration remains open to constructive advice and partnership that will move the state forward, while appreciating the leadership of both the House of Assembly and the Judiciary.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Usman Muhammad Zuru, commended the Governor for organizing the Iftar, describing it as a spiritually rewarding initiative, especially during the holy month of Ramadan when acts of charity carry immense divine merit.

The Speaker praised Governor Idris for his patience, empathy, and responsiveness to the needs of citizens, noting that his compassionate interventions and personal involvement in governance have brought relief to many families across the state.

He observed that the security and economic challenges confronting Kebbi State and the nation are part of broader trials, encouraging steadfastness and prayer.

Also speaking, the Honorable Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Umar Abubakar, highlighted the spiritual significance of providing food for those breaking their fast, stating that even offering water during Ramadan attracts immeasurable reward.

The Chief Judge commended the Governor’s commitment to citizens’ welfare, particularly the Ramadan feeding programme and other social support initiatives.

He offered prayers for the Governor’s continued success, protection, and wisdom, while urging sustained public support for the administration’s efforts.
