Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer has written his name into Premier League history after becoming the first player to score three first-half hat-tricks in the competition.
The landmark achievement came during Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
Palmer netted all three goals before halftime as the Blues took firm control of the contest away from home.
His first two goals came from the penalty spot, with the England international calmly sending Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa the wrong way on both occasions.
Palmer completed his historic treble by smashing Marc Cucurella’s low cross into the roof of the net to cap a dominant individual display.
The feat adds to his earlier first-half hat-tricks against Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion, underlining his growing influence in Chelsea’s attack.
The result leaves Chelsea fifth in the Premier League table with 43 points, just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
