The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has congratulated the government and people of Ogun State on the celebration of 50 years of statehood, describing the milestone as a testament to the state’s resilience, excellence and sustained growth.
In a congratulatory message to mark the Golden Jubilee, the professional body also felicitated Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for leading the Gateway State at such a historic moment, noting that the anniversary ushers the state into a new phase of development and progress.
The NIPR said Ogun State’s journey since its creation on February 3, 1976 reflects an unwavering commitment to development, innovation and prosperity, adding that the state has continued to rise above challenges by harnessing its rich human and natural resources.
According to the institute, Ogun State has earned national recognition as a beacon of aspiration, creativity and breakthrough, while also maintaining its status as Nigeria’s education capital with the highest concentration of tertiary institutions in the country.
The body further noted that the state has carved a niche as a hub of public relations professionalism, strategically nurturing talent and driving positive initiatives through effective communication and reputation management.
Commending successive administrations for their contributions, the Ogun NIPR applauded past and present leaders for laying strong foundations and steering the state towards its current status as one of Nigeria’s most progressive and prosperous states.
The institute also praised the people of Ogun State for their resilience, industry and unity, which it said have remained critical to the state’s steady advancement.
Highlighting achievements under the current administration, the NIPR observed that Ogun State has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most business-friendly destinations, attracting investments in manufacturing, logistics, real estate and technology. It added that the presence of over 6,000 manufacturing firms, major assembly plants and industrial clusters underscores the state’s growing industrial strength.
The professional body expressed optimism about the future, citing the discovery of oil in two locations and the promise of several ambitious government projects as indicators that the state is poised for even greater development.
The statement, signed by the Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of NIPR, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, MNIPR, concluded by urging residents to reflect on the Golden Jubilee as one united family bound by shared heritage, while extending hearty congratulations to indigenes, residents and friends of Ogun State.
“Proudly Ogun! Boldly Public Relations!” the statement read.
