Controversial street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has launched a blistering attack on his father, accusing him of abandonment, manipulation, and feeding off his fame while hiding from his troubles, and even warning him against what he described as spiritual intimidation.
The singer’s emotional outburst comes amid renewed family tensions that recently spiralled into a physical confrontation between Portable and one of his baby mamas, a drama that quickly went viral online.
During an Instagram Live session on Tuesday, the Zeh Nation boss claimed his father conveniently disappears whenever he faces police trouble or domestic crises, yet maintains contact with his partners purely for financial gain.
Portable alleged that instead of acting as a peacemaker, his father routinely contacts his baby mamas to collect money, a habit he said has repeatedly destabilised his personal life.
“Even my dad is only concerned with getting money from me. There is no time you will come to my aid at the police station, but you will collect the phone numbers of my baby mamas and collect money from them,” he said.
“Are you not supposed to know just one wife, Bewaji, my only wife? But you chase all of them for money. You are around me, yet my life is scattered.”
The ‘Zazoo Zehh’ crooner further accused his father of cheating him during a building project, alleging inflated material costs and outright deception.
“My life is good without you. You did not train me. You didn’t send me to school. You are like Baba Mohbad, you collected my clothes and shoes, but when there is war, you disappear,” he ranted.
“When I wanted to build a house, I trusted him. He cheated me. You quoted 300 blocks as 900 blocks. Roofing was N1.4 million; you turned it to N2.7 million.”
Portable also accused his father of emotional abandonment, claiming he showed indifference when his mother died and only returned to his life after fame arrived.
“When my mum died, my father said he was not concerned. You came back when I became famous,” he said.
He insisted his father would never inherit his wealth, vowing to protect his life, properties, and children from exploitation.
“You can never inherit me. I won’t allow what happened to Mohbad to happen to me. Nobody will take my properties. I will live long and take care of my children.”
Portable further accused his father of sabotaging relationships with relatives who supported him, including an aunt he credited for raising and defending him.
“My father blocked my aunt, who raised me, saying she used me for rituals. That same aunt stood by me at police stations,” he said.
Despite the bitterness, Portable praised his aunt, Alhaja, describing her as his true pillar of support.
“If not for Alhaja, I wouldn’t be here today. She fortified me. My father scattered everything and still collected my money and cars,” he concluded.
