Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, the first female and immediate past Accountant General of the Federation, has called on sons and daughters of Remoland, both at home and in the diaspora, to return and actively participate in the development of the zone.

She made the call during an interview at the Remo Day Celebration held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Sagamu, describing the annual event as a unifying platform that brings together Remo indigenes to reflect on their shared values and collective future.

Dr. Madein commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for what she described as remarkable developmental strides across the state, particularly in Remoland. She highlighted the Gateway International Agro Cargo Airport, which has commenced commercial operations, noting that its world-class facilities have attracted investors and boosted business activities in Iperu and the wider Remo axis.

She also praised the administration’s road infrastructure projects, including the Ijebu-Ode-Epe Expressway and the ongoing Ijebu-Ode–Ketu–Ikorodu–Epe road, saying the governor has created an enabling environment that gives citizens a strong sense of belonging. According to her, these efforts have encouraged increased private sector participation in Ogun State’s development.

The former Accountant General further lauded the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, describing him as a symbol of unity who has successfully rallied Remo sons and daughters around a common developmental vision. She noted that many members of the Remo diaspora, including those in the Remo Women of Excellence, returned home for the celebration and are now exploring investment opportunities in the region.

Calling attention to Remo’s strategic location as a gateway connecting the North, South, and East, Dr. Madein urged indigenes not to remain spectators. “Come home and let us develop Remo together,” she said, stressing the need to harness the area’s untapped potentials in agriculture, industry, hospitality, and education.

As a member of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation and Founder of the Olowo Oloye Foundation, she advocated the establishment of a federal university in Remoland to enhance socio-economic growth and expand educational opportunities for youths. She also highlighted emerging opportunities around the new industrial park near the Gateway International Airport, assuring investors of high returns.

Dr. Madein concluded with a call for unity and collective action, expressing optimism about Remo’s future. “Ajose gbogbo wa ni o, Remo agbe wa o,” she said, emphasizing that sustained collaboration among all stakeholders would take Remoland to greater heights.
