Dr. Hafiz Mukhtar Jahun, Chief Impact Officer of the Health Impact Initiative, has officially launched Ɗanmoɗi Eye Care in Jahun Local Government Area.
The programme is an independent humanitarian initiative established to complement the efforts of the Jigawa State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam .Dr. Umar A. Namadi, particularly in line with the 12-Point Agenda, with emphasis on good health and economic prosperity.
During the first phase of implementation, the programme reached over 380 beneficiaries. The Services provided included cataract screening and surgery, as well as the distribution of essential medications for other eye conditions such as glaucoma, refractive errors, conjunctivitis, eye infections, dry eye syndrome, allergic eye diseases, and minor ocular inflammations.
Plans are underway for a second phase aimed at expanding coverage and deepening impact.
The launch event was attended by key government officials and stakeholders, including the Technical Adviser on Health, Hon. Isa Surajo; the Chief Press Secretary to His Excellency, Malam Hamisu Gumel.
The Personal Physician to His Excellency, Dr. Naziru Abdul Wahab was also at the event, as well as Salihu Atafi (Commander) and the District Head of Jahun.
Others are the Senior Special Assistant on Health, Dutse Emirate, the Special Assistants on Health Monitoring of Jahun and Yankwashi; the Special Assistant on Markets Development; the Special Assistant on Higher education monitoring of Jahun and Kafin Hausa Local governments, representatives of security agencies; members of the media; and hundreds of well-wishers.
Ɗanmoɗi Eye Care is committed to improving community eye health through accessible, people-centered services and sustained collaboration with relevant stakeholders, with the goal of reducing avoidable blindness and visual impairment across Jigawa State.
