The General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Kehinde Bello, has reiterated the importance of strict adherence to due process, urging accredited environmental consultants operating within the state to comply fully with established environmental regulations.

Hon. Bello stated this during an interactive meeting with consultants accredited by the agency, held at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. He emphasised the need for diligence, professionalism, and zero tolerance for compromise in the discharge of their responsibilities.

According to him, “As the statutory agency responsible for regulating environmental compliance and protection, we are committed to minimising environmental infractions and ensuring that all decisions are made transparently and in accordance with existing environmental laws.”

He noted that environmental consultants play a critical role in guiding industries on compliance with regulatory standards and due process requirements.

Meanwhile, the Director of Laboratory Services, Mr. Abiodun Durojaye, reminded consultants of the need to submit quarterly environmental monitoring reports, including effluent analysis and air quality assessments, conducted for their respective clients.

In her welcome address, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Adeola Sowunmi, stressed the need for all industrial facilities in the state to comply with the agency’s directives to avoid sanctions.

Responding on behalf of the consultants, Dr. Opone Valentine, Managing Director of Accappocco Global, commended the agency for convening the meeting and called for sustained collaboration to promote environmental sustainability in the state.
