Officials of the Inspections and Compliance Department (ICD) of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Northwest Region, have paid a courtesy visit to the Sokoto State Police Command to strengthen cooperation in the fight against substandard products.
The delegation, led by Team Leader Umar Ali Abubakar, met with Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Musa, psc, at the Command Headquarters.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ahmad Rufai, anipr, the ICD team briefed the Commissioner on SON’s ongoing enforcement operations across the state, emphasizing the need for seamless collaboration with security agencies to ensure successful outcomes.
The team appealed for the Command’s full support, stressing that coordinated efforts are essential to curb the distribution of fake and substandard goods.
Responding, CP Ahmad Musa reaffirmed the Police Command’s readiness to work closely with SON to protect consumers and safeguard the economic interests of Sokoto residents.
He assured the team that the Command remains committed to any initiative that enhances public safety and strengthens regulatory enforcement in the state.
