In a time when our constituency urgently needs purposeful, visionary, and competent representation, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna stands out as a rare blend of experience, courage, intellect, and grassroots credibility. His journey, shaped by years of service, activism, legislative exposure, and community engagement, positions him as arguably the most qualified youth to represent Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives come 2027.

A Fearless Student Leader With a Record of Integrity, Amb. Ikebunwa’s leadership journey began early. As a student, he emerged as one of the most vocal and principled voices in student unionism while serving as the Chief Judge of the Student Union Government (SUG) at Federal Polytechnic Oko between 2010–2011, he demonstrated extraordinary courage. Despite threats and intimidation, he spearheaded the implementation of strategic reforms that ensured transparency of governance and protection of students rights, a bold action that reflected his intolerance for injustice and his commitment to accountability.

In the same spirit of activism, he was awarded the Commander, Aluta Force Republic in 2011 for his remarkable contribution in advancing student representation in the institution. He held other positions such as the President, Nnewi Academic Congress, Federal Polytechnic Oko Chapter between 2010 to 2011, National Vice President (Home Affairs), Nnewi Academic Congress, between 2009 to 2010, and National Financial Secretary, Nnewi Academic Congress between 2010 to 2011. These roles collectively shaped him into a fearless leader grounded in discipline, justice, and fairness.

Deep-rooted Youth and Community Leadership
Beyond campus leadership, Amb. Ikebunwa’s influence extended into the broader community. Between 2013 and 2017, he served as the Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nnewi North, the apex youth leadership office in his Local Government. He also served as the State Provost, Anambra Youths for Progressive Change, a group advocating progressive governance in Anambra State. These positions placed him at the heart of community mobilization, youth advocacy, and grassroots development. His grassroots networks remain unmatched, giving him a deep understanding of the aspirations and struggles of ordinary young people and families in the constituency.

A Legislatively Prepared Candidate with Practical Experience, One of Amb. Ikebunwa’s strongest qualities is his legislative exposure. He worked at the Anambra State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2020, gaining firsthand experience in lawmaking, political negotiation, committee systems, oversight functions, and constituency project facilitation.

His competence in this area earned him further recognition. From 2020 to 2024, he served as the Special Assistant on Grassroot Mobilisation to the late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, then Senator representing Anambra South. This role exposed him to higher-level legislative strategy, political coordination, and federal constituency engagement.

Through this, he sharpened his skills in lobbying, bill tracking, project attraction, and electoral fieldwork, skills that directly translate into effective representation.

Global Recognition & Intellectual
Credibility, Amb. Ikebunwa’s leadership influence extends beyond Nigeria. He was once selected as a Global Youth Ambassador for A World at School (United Nations), serving from 2017 to 2020, a testament to his global mindset, competence, and commitment to youth empowerment.

Academically, he has built a solid foundation, now serving as a lecturer in a higher institution, proving his intellectual depth and understanding of policy, governance, and nation-building.

The Leader Our Constituency Needs Now
Today, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo face a troubling decline in the quality of legislative representation. Constituency needs such as Business support, Modern housing, Reliable electricity, Industrial development, Youth empowerment, Human capital development, and Critical federal interventions remain largely unmet. This is not because our people lack ideas or opportunities, but because we have failed to send individuals with competence, character, and legislative understanding.

Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna embodies the “Gosim Ka M Fu N’anya” philosophy, a type of leadership driven by visible results, not empty promises. His track record proves his capacity. His experiences show readiness. His character reflects integrity. His journey demonstrates consistency. And his impact reveals a leader truly prepared for higher responsibility.
