The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) is witnessing a remarkable transformation, thanks to the efforts of FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. The resurrection of the Apo-Wasa-Karshi Road, a previously notorious symbol of stalled development, is expected to boost economic growth and increase property values by 40-50% within the next two years.
The road, described as a “vital economic artery,” will cut down commute time by over 60%, making the area a viable residential and commercial hub. This project is part of Wike’s broader initiative to address decades-old infrastructural deficits, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Other notable projects underway include: A 5-kilometre temporary access road linking Saburi I and II to the Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX), enhancing access to the Dei-Dei International Market, and reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Dei-Dei International Market Road to restore its status as a regional trading giant.
Added is the construction of the Kabusa-Ketti Road and Kabusa-Takushara Road to transform peripheral areas into desirable extensions of the city centre.
Wike’s efforts have also improved security, with over 100 operational vehicles provided to security agencies and new police posts established in communities like Saburi and Takushara.
The AMAC Chairman, Honourable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has pledged absolute support and collaboration with Wike’s administration.
