Federal Capital Territory Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has urged the newly constituted South-South Development Commission (SSDC) to prioritize grassroots development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

This was contained in a press release from Rabi Musa Umar, the Assistant Director of Press, Office of the Minister recently.

Wike emphasized that the Commission’s primary objective is to bring development to the people of the South-South region and warned against politicization and misuse of public funds.

He outlined clear guidelines for project execution, advising members to ensure financial prudence, consult widely with stakeholders, and avoid duplicating projects already being undertaken by local or state governments.

The SSDC Chairman, Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, pledged the Board’s commitment to the development of the South-South region, praising Wike’s leadership style and promising to emulate his approach.
