Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, will on Wednesday confer degrees on 3,633 graduating students at its 17th Convocation Ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, has announced.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said the graduating class consists of 2,336 undergraduates and 1,297 postgraduate students across various faculties and disciplines.
A breakdown of the undergraduate results shows that 76 students earned First Class Honours, while 1,408 finished in the Second Class Upper division. Another 810 are graduating with Second Class Lower degrees, while 42 candidates will receive Third Class degrees.
In the postgraduate category, 170 candidates will receive Postgraduate Diplomas, while 1,127 will be awarded Master’s degrees in different fields.
Professor Oduwole described the graduating cohort as “well-prepared for the complexities of the modern world,” noting that their academic journey had equipped them with critical thinking, discipline, and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to society.
She urged the graduates to uphold the university’s values of integrity, compassion, and service, and to apply their training toward nation-building and global competitiveness. She also encouraged them to pursue lifelong learning and embrace opportunities for professional and personal growth.
The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing graduates who can drive positive change, adding that Ajayi Crowther University would continue to strengthen its academic standards, research output, and community impact.
The 17th Convocation Ceremony is scheduled to be held at the university’s main campus in Oyo.
