The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and Coronation Group, has launched a digital upskilling initiative aimed at building a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused Civil Service.

This initiative addresses the challenge of outdated processes and limited digital proficiency by equipping civil servants with the tools and knowledge to adopt technology-driven processes that enhance data use, automation, and decision-making for improved public service delivery.

The programme builds digital competence across four key areas: Microsoft Office productivity tools, cloud collaboration and communication, enterprise systems, and digital workplace readiness, to strengthen institutional efficiency and improve citizen outcomes. Training on Microsoft Office applications will sharpen administrative and documentation accuracy, while the cloud collaboration module will promote teamwork and agility across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). Through Enterprise Content Management (ECMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, participants will learn to automate workflows, improve data accessibility, and deliver faster, more responsive services to citizens.

Beyond technology adoption, the initiative represents a shift towards smarter governance, one where data-driven insights inform policy, transparency rebuilds public trust, and responsive service delivery improves citizens’ daily lives. By equipping civil servants with 21st-century digital skills, this training helps lay the foundation for a government that is not only efficient but also inclusive, accountable, and capable of delivering measurable impact for every Nigerian.

Speaking on the importance of this intervention, Eniola Olowu, Deputy Director of Programmes, Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, said:
“Digitalisation is central to building a modern, efficient, and citizen-centred Civil Service. Through this initiative, we are empowering civil servants with practical digital skills that will enable smarter decision-making, improve accountability, and ultimately enhance public service delivery.”

She added that the foundation’s goal is to support the Federal Government’s broader digitalisation agenda, including the rollout of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP25).

Also speaking on the collaboration, Ngozi Akinyele, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Coronation Group, noted:
“At Coronation, we recognise that a vibrant private sector thrives on the foundation of an efficient public service. By supporting this digital upskilling initiative, we are contributing to the creation of a more effective and transparent governance environment, one that enables investor confidence, accelerates business growth, and drives sustainable economic progress. This partnership reflects our commitment to nation-building through impactful, long-term investments in people and institutions.”

The training, delivered by Wootlab Foundation in Abuja, will equip 500 civil servants drawn from the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. Participants, from both directorate and mid-level cadres, will receive hands-on instruction in digital collaboration tools, document management, and workflow automation.

This initiative advances the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s mission to strengthen public sector performance through digital innovation and reform, while supporting Coronation Group’s Sustainability Agenda focused on social impact, inclusion, and good governance. Together with the Ohcsf, both organisations are demonstrating how cross-sector collaboration can accelerate reform and build a world-class, digitally enabled Civil Service for sustainable national development.
