The National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed the party’s Ogun State chapter to take action on the reported suspension of Senator Otunba Olugbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East Senatorial District.
In a letter dated 17th November 2025 and addressed to the Ogun State Chairman of the party, the APC National Secretary, Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, PhD, stated that the national leadership had been inundated with notices regarding the alleged suspension of the former governor.
He clarified that the National Working Committee (NWC) had not yet deliberated on the matter as required by Articles 21.3(d & e) of the party’s constitution. The letter emphasised that only the NWC is empowered to investigate such issues and take an informed decision.
The National Secretary, therefore, instructed the state chapter to allow the NWC to handle the matter properly and refrain from issuing any further public statements on the alleged suspension until due process is completed.
According to the letter, Senator Daniel remains a bona fide member of the APC pending the conclusion of the NWC’s investigation.
Sen. Basiru, while conveying assurances of his highest regards, reaffirmed the commitment of the national secretariat to upholding the constitution and internal procedures of the party.
