The Kano State House of Assembly has received correspondence on the proposed 2026 Appropriation Bill from the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State House of Assembly, on Monday.
While presenting the letter from the Executive Governor, the Speaker, Rt. Honourable Jibril Ismail Falgore, read:
“In accordance with Section 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I have the honour and privilege to inform this noble House of my desire to submit the 2026 Kano State Proposed Appropriation Bill on Wednesday for consideration and approval.
The 2026 proposed budget contains programmes and vital services in the overall interest of Kano citizens.” Contributing to the Governor’s request, the Majority Leader, Hon. Lawal Hussain Dala, emphasized that it is the duty of the legislature to scrutinize the proposed budget, noting that the House awaits its formal presentation.
Presiding over the session, Rt. Hon. Falgore thanked Honourable Members for their commitment and extended his best wishes to the Executive Governor for safe arrival ahead of the budget presentation.
