Nigerian lawyer and human rights advocate Aisha Hamman, Founder and Executive Director of Lift Africa Foundation, has been nominated for the 2025 Future Awards Africa (TFAA) Prize for Advocacy and Activism.

The award recognizes young Africans driving impactful change on the continent. Hamman was nominated for her dedicated work advancing gender justice, social inclusion, and access to justice for vulnerable communities, particularly in Northern Nigeria.

Through Lift Africa Foundation, Hamman has led several transformative programs:

Justice Shield – providing legal aid, paralegal training, and support for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

Clear Her Path – promoting education, empowerment, and leadership opportunities for girls and women.

Her initiatives have contributed to policy advocacy, community mobilization, and landmark legal interventions, directly impacting thousands of beneficiaries.

“The nomination is not just an honor for me, but a recognition of the communities we serve and the young people leading change across Africa,” Hamman said.

“We remain committed to ensuring justice, empowerment, and accountability are not just ideals, but lived realities.”

TFAA describes this year’s nominees as “fearless changemakers driving impact, challenging systems, and empowering communities to create lasting transformation.

” The 2025 edition, themed “Threads of Legacy,” celebrates young leaders across governance, innovation, culture, and social impact.
