The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, has charged newly passed-out police constables to uphold the core values of discipline, perseverance, and integrity in their service to the nation.
CP Musa gave this charge today while addressing the constables on their successful completion of rigorous training. He stated that this achievement marks the beginning of a vital career dedicated to the selfless protection of lives and property.
“You are now ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force,” he stated. “This uniform symbolizes the trust and authority bestowed upon you by the citizens. You must, therefore, exemplify the highest standards of professionalism.”
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ahmad Rufai, the Commissioner emphasized that the officers are critical to rebuilding public trust and enhancing security. He advised them to embody courage, loyalty, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
He further warned against any form of misconduct, stating, “Your uniform is a symbol of protection and service. It must never be used to intimidate, harass, or extort the citizens you are sworn to serve.”
CP Musa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for their commitment to capacity building. He also commended the instructors at the Police Training School, Sokoto, for their dedication.
The Commissioner highlighted the importance of responsible conduct, both offline and on social media, in line with the Nigeria Police Act, 2020.
He announced that the new constables will be deployed across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state to strengthen grassroots policing and improve public safety.
Concluding his address, CP Musa urged the officers to remain vigilant and dedicated to their national assignment, saying, “Your duty is to maintain peace and ensure the safety of our communities.”
