Edo Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa has commiserated with the Edo council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and THISDAY Newspapers over the Death of Austin Adibe Emeyonu.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, Idahosa expressed deep sadness over the passing of the Edo State Correspondent of THISDAY Newspapers, who until his death was the Edo State Correspondent of THISDAY Newspapers.
The Deputy Governor described the late Emeyonu as a thoroughbred journalist who distinguished himself through professionalism, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to factual and balanced reporting.
He noted that Emeyonu’s contributions to journalism in Edo State and Nigeria were remarkable and that his sudden demise represents a great loss not only to THISDAY Newspapers and the NUJ, but also to the broader media community and the State as a whole.
Idahosa extended heartfelt condolences to the leadership and members of the Edo State Council of the union, management and staff of THISDAY Newspapers, and the family of the deceased.
He prayed that God grant them the strength to bear this painful loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.
