The Kebbi State Government has distributed 340 brand new laptop computers to students of the state currently studying in India.

The distribution took place at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, during a colourful ceremony.

Gov. of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris ,Kauran Gwandu, was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Shafiu Zauro.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Zauro explained that the gesture was part of the Governor’s unwavering commitment to providing Kebbi students abroad with essential learning tools to ease their academic pursuits.

“This intervention by the education-friendly Governor is in line with his sustained efforts to support and motivate Kebbi students studying abroad.

‘As the people of the state are aware, Gov. Idris has fully settled the tuition and scholarship fees of all our students in tertiary institutions both at home and abroad.

“As a former classroom teacher and unionist, it is not surprising that he is taking bold steps to reform the education sector,” he stated.

He urged the students to be good ambassadors of Kebbi State and Nigeria by excelling academically and upholding moral values.

The University management also commended Gov. Idris for his continued support and care for Kebbi students in their institution.

It will be recalled that since assuming office in 2023, Gov. Idris has consistently sponsored the payment of tuition and scholarship fees for Kebbi students in Nigeria and abroad.

This was in addition to settling WAEC examination fees for Secondary School students across the state.
