By: Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto.

The Future Is Now Project in Nigeria aims to empower young leaders to take charge of the country’s destiny by promoting generational leadership and inclusivity in governance.

The project’s key objectives include increasing youth representation.

According to a write-up by Usability Abubakar Isha, the initiative seeks to ensure that at least 70% of local government and state assembly seats are held by youths under 35, and a similar proportion of House of Representatives seats are contested and won by those under 40.

Promoting Accountability and Transparency: The project encourages young leaders to base their decisions on evidence, lead with integrity, and demonstrate effective governance.

Fostering Collaboration: It also aims to build partnerships with civil society organizations, the private sector, and experienced politicians to address critical national issues such as insecurity, inequality, and climate change.

The project has garnered support from young Nigerians who are frustrated with the current political system and eager for change. By providing a platform for young leaders to emerge, the Future Is Now Project aims to drive transformation and sustainable development in Nigeria.
