The Amadabo of Moko-Ama, HRH Moses Theophilus-Kenibara VII, has strongly condemned the recent murder incidents in Egweama and Beletiama communities in Bayelsa State’s Brass Local Government Area. The victim, Mr. Collins Kuromo-Ayebaye, popularly known as Laku, was allegedly killed by Mr. Kina John, who is currently in security custody.
HRH Moses Theophilus-Kenibara VII expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families and assured the people of Egweama and Beletiama that justice would be served. As the Chairman of Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs and Ijaw National Congress, Central Zone, he called for calm and urged traditional rulers to caution their subjects to forestall further occurrences.
The royal father applauded the Bayelsa State Government, led by Governor Senator Douye Diri and Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for their swift intervention. The government’s deployment of security agencies to the area is expected to prevent further breakdown of law and order. Again, His Highness commended the delegation led by Hon. Dr Daniel Charles for having engaged the immediate communities and families affected.
HRH Moses Theophilus-Kenibara VII also appealed to security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and uncover the truth behind Mr. Collins’ killing and the earlier murder of Madam Amazige Ayebaesin, another Egweama indigene. He further urged stakeholders to caution their wards to behave morally and encouraged the affected communities to remain hopeful that justice will be served, and peace will be restored to the area.
The Amadabo’s condemnation and call for calm aim to promote peace and stability in the region, including previous incidents in the local government area and across the state while ensuring that those responsible for the heinous crime are brought to justice.
